Mr. Steagall is a partner of 44 Capital. With just under 25 years of experience within the financial markets, Mr. Steagall developed significant expertise in corporate finance advisory, relationship management with domestic and multinational clients and foreign investors, management of the most diverse and complex M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Steagall started his career at Trevisan Auditores e Consultores as an auditor and business valuation expert, where he participated in key transactions in the Brazilian Privatization Program. He was manager of the M&A division at Banco Fator, where he originated and executed approximately US$ 6 billion in transactions. He then took over coverage and execution responsibilities at Morgan Stanley, first in New York and then in São Paulo, where he originated and executed a significant number of M&A, fixed income, structured and equity transactions, in both his coverage sectors as well as real estate, services and other sectors in Brazil and in other countries in Latin America. Prior to 44Capital, Mr. Steagall was a partner of a dedicated distressed assets fund. He was an audit committee member for Net Serviços S.A., the largest cable TV provider in Latin America. He holds a BS. in Business Administration from PUC-São Paulo and holds an MBA in General Management from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
Mr. Paiva has been in working in strategic planning and finance for over 25 years. He was Director of Global Controls for BRF – Brazil Foods, Director of Shared Services Center and Technology for Cyrela Brazil Realty and Executive Director of Accenture where he developed projects on strategic planning, finance, client management, technology and business processes. He worked in business and project development for many clients in different sectors, as telecommunications (Oi, Claro, Telefonica, Embratel, Telcel, Movistar, Telemig, GVT), Financial Services (SICREDI, Itaú, ABN, Cibrasec – Mortgage), Retail (C&A, Carrefour, Pernambucanas ), Consumer Goods (Ambev, Natura, Sadia, Johnson & Johnson, British American Tobacco), Transportation (TAM, Natural Resources (Comgás) and Media (Abril). Mr. Paiva holds a B.S. in Electronic Engineering from Escola de Engenharia Mauá, a Masters in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas and attended a post-graduate program at Kenan Flagler (North Carolina – USA).
Ms. Almeida has provided investment banking and financial advisory services to companies in Latin America for over 25 years. Over the course of her international financial career, Ms. Almeida has worked with governments, companies and family-owned businesses in the Emerging Markets in the development of capital markets products, structured finance and restructurings. She also executed M&A transactions for clients throughout Latin America. Ms. Almeida worked for Wasserstein Perella and Violy&Co. in New York, and in Brazil she most recently worked as a principal investor in a fund dedicated to investments in real assets. She also worked in project finance for a large construction conglomerate in Brazil. She started her career as University Professor of Engineering and Computational Mechanics at Universidade Federal do Paraná, Brazil. Ms. Almeida is a Civil Engineering graduate of Universidade Federal do Paraná and holds a Master’s and an Engineer’s Degree in Engineering from Stanford University.
A partner of 44 Capital, Mr. Arruda has over 20 years of experience experience in all areas of the financial markets: credit markets, corporate finance, capital markets, project finance, structured finance, restructuring and financial management. He spent his career in corporate banking at Banco Nacional, Unibanco, Santander, BCN and later Bradesco, where he was part of the team that structured the corporate banking area, covering infrastructure clients. At Bradesco, he also he led the M&A, project finance and structured finance practices. He was in charge of the IB division of Banco Safra and finally, CFO of Pandurata Alimentos Ltda. He is currently a board member of Valora Gestão de Investimentos Ltda. Mr. Arruda holds a BS in Business Administration from PUC-São Paulo, an MBA in Finance from IBMEC and attended a post-graduate course in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mr. Tonello started his professional career at Tecnisa, a real estate development and construction company. Prior to joining 44Capital, Mr. Tonello worked in HSBC’s investment banking division in Brazil where he participated in the development of M&A and capital markets transactions. Mr. Tonello holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Escola Politécnia of the University of São Paulo.
